John Leeson - A Dog's Life

Epsom Playhouse, Surrey

"A one-off special event celebrating the fortieth anniversary of K9's first appearance in Doctor Who on Saturday 1st October 1977!"

Scanning A DOG’s LIFE John Leeson retraces some of his steps across a freewheeling and multi-faceted career as an actor, let alone wearing ‘hats’ variously as a hospital porter, a (failed) encyclopedia salesman, a radio and television continuity ‘voice’, a question-setter for the BBC’s ‘Mastermind’, a wine educator and writer, a magistrate, a collaborating playwright, a local political candidate, a provider of on-screen food for ‘Poirot’ - and latterly finding himself best known as ‘the voice of K9’ after  nearly 40 years in the DOCTOR WHO dog-house!  Now how did that happen?

Is he now slowing down? Come and find out as this ‘low-profile’ actor invites you to enjoy some of his memories, including those of some of the big ‘names’ he has worked with across the years.

Are there gaps? Of course there are! You get the chance to quiz him afterwards on any topic you like, including DOCTOR WHO – assuming his memory banks are still up to it - and (blank cheques excluded) get him to sign anything for you…. even copies of his autobiography ‘Tweaking the Tail’ and his Recipe Book ‘Dog’s Dinners’, both published by Fantom Films.
